We'd like to congratulate Garden Manor for being the winner of this month's free hosting site. At the beginning of each month we will call up our own site's homepage. Whomever's site is the featured site when the page loads will get FREE hosting of one domain for one month. It's just our way of saying thank you.
Google Maps is the poster-child for maps with the
ability to zoom in and out, move around city streets, and get driving
directions in a flash. We now offer the capability of embedding a map in
your own site. Being able to provide an easy-to-understand map and
directions can bring more customers through your door or your reservation
service.
Adding a Google map embedded in your site does two things. First, it allows
visitors to manipulate the map and request driving directions between their
location and your business. Second, it keeps the visitor ON your site and
doesn't require them to leave your site to find your location.
If you'd like to see (and play with) an example of an embedded Google map,
visit
Der Stall Bed and
Breakfast Barn and click on DIRECTIONS.
It takes us about an hour of scripting (about $45) and latitude/longitude
stuff to embed a map. If you're interested in having us embed a Google map
on your site just send us an e-mail.
Google's Local Business Coupons
A great way for any business to attract new customers
and generate repeat business is to offer coupons. The Google Local Business
Center Dashboard provides an easy way to add coupons to your listings.
Whether you offer a free initial consultation or a percentage off your most
popular offering, coupons can be a great way to differentiate your listing
from the competition. And coupons provide another feedback mechanism to show
that people are finding you through local search.

If you haven't claimed your business on the Local Business Center, please review our Jul 09 newsletter.
