Random Free Hosting Site
We'd like to congratulate Dogs
Bed USA for being the winner
of last month's free hosting site. At the beginning of each month we
will call up our own site's homepage. Whomever's site is the featured
site when the page loads will get free hosting of one domain for one
month. It's just our way of saying thank you.
IMail - It's Available From Everywhere
If you have your site
hosted by us we can arrange for you to receive your e-mail at any
computer with access to the Internet. This is handy if you'd like to
check your e-mail while away from your computer (at work, on vacation,
etc.).
If you think you need this
capability,
e-mail Hans and he'll send you the URL, username, and password
you'll need to access your e-mail account.
Measuring Link Popularity
Google will only list a
Web site in its result pages if other good Web sites link to it. If
only a few other Web sites link to your site and these Web sites are
of low quality, it will be difficult to make it into Google's search
results.
We recently have noticed a
number of our clients taking linking seriously and are actively
obtaining reciprocal links with other quality sites. We applaud your
efforts because it will be worth it.
So how do you measure your
success in obtaining links from other sites? You can find out the link
popularity of your Web site with this freeware
link popularity check tool. Keep track of your site's popularity,
but remember that the number will fluctuate slightly from check to
check. So don't get too wrapped up in checking the number every day.
We check our clients that have joined our
Site Submission Service on a
quarterly basis.
We Did the Work - Honest
Quite often we are asked
to update sites for our clients using AOL as their ISP. More often
than not, after we've sent our "Done." e-mail we receive an e-mail of
phone call saying they can't see the changes. This is because of AOL.
One way AOL controls the
millions of Web site requests made every day is by using a proxy
cache. Rather than requesting the same page a hundred times for a
hundred users, AOL requests the page for the first user and then
presents the cached version to the other 99. The cache is updated
every 24 hours, which explains the delay our clients are experiencing
seeing the work we've done.
