The Value
of Endorsements
Studies show the one
feature that seems to sway/convince shoppers to select a product or
service is the endorsement or testimony. When shoppers are at the
critical point of selecting one business/service from two equal
candidates, the endorsement or testimony is the feature that persuades
them.
We have been suggesting
adding endorsements to our clients for years now without ever taking
our own advice. That's changing with our new site format.

Google Analytics
In the spirit of helping move site visitors into converted site users,
Google is offering its
enormously useful site analytics tool, Urchin, free of charge under
the re-branded name Google Analytics. For those of you in the
accommodations field, this is the same as Blizzard's tracker, except
it's offered for FREE.
Google Analytics can help you, "Learn how visitors interact with your
Web site and identify the navigational bottlenecks that keep them from
completing your conversion goals. Find out how profitable your
keywords are across search engines and campaigns. Pinpoint
where your best customers come from and which markets are most
profitable to you. Google Analytics gives you this and more through
easy-to-understand visually enhanced reports."
Google Analytics is a members-only service. It appears as if Google
has taken some of the
best elements of other analytic programs and integrated AdWords/AdSense
conversion support features. The layout is easy to use and there is a
good mix of information and supporting graphical elements to ease the
headaches commonly associated with statistical analysis. The first
overlay provides an at-a-glance dashboard with gauges indicating site
visitors, unique visitors, top documents, top keywords, and other
user-specific information sets.
Though the hit counter is free, if you want us to install this tracker
on your site you should plan on bout $35 to cover us installing the
tracking code on each page of your site. Just

this tracker instead of, or in addition to, the one we've installed on your site.
Recycling Printer Ink Cartridges
As many
of you know, Susan and me train guide dogs for the visually impaired. The school
we volunteer
with is
Guide Dogs
of Texas. They are collecting printer ink cartridges
for recycling and fund raising.

cartridge, please give me a call and I'll come pick it up for
recycling by Guide Dogs of Texas. If you are one of our many clients
not fortunate enough to live in 'God's Country' you may mail the
cartridges to me and I'll discount the shipping charges from your
bill.
