We'd like to
congratulate Cook's
Cottage for being the winner
of this month's free hosting site. At the beginning of each month we
will call up our own site's homepage. Whomever's site is the featured
site when the page loads will get FREE hosting of one domain for one
month. It's just our way of saying thank you.
A Treasure
Hunt
I'm talking about a
contest in which you give away something free. However, this contest
works a little different. Have us place a small graphic in different
parts of your site periodically and then ask visitors to find it and
enter the contest by telling you where the graphic is located. What
does this do? It persuades your visitor to play a game and in the
process takes them through your site. While they are looking, they are
learning about you. See, it's not hard to get visitors to stick around
long enough to actually buy something or make a reservation!

What's
This "Best Of" Stuff?
Many of our clients are
starting to notice an entry at the bottom of their homepage that
either says, "Voted
one of Best Texas Hill Country Sites" or "Voted
one of Best Fredericksburg Texas Sites". Both sites are run by us
and are an attempt to increase our clients' site link popularity
factor (how many site pages on the Internet link INTO your site).
Currently, link
popularity is THE most important factor in attaining good search
engine ranking. The search engines see inbound links to your site as
"votes" for your site. All things being equal, the site with the most
"votes" get ranked highest.
We know ya'll don't spend a whole bunch
of time working on increasing your site's link popularity, so we've
attempted to help by linking a number of our client's sites via the
"Best of" sites.
These sites are becoming popular and
you'll notice more and more referral from these sites to your site.
Hopefully some of these referrals will bring along their credit cards
and make a purchase/reservation/listing so ya'll prosper.
In the future we'll be adding more "Best
of" sites, so if we haven't covered your area yet, we will.
