In This Issue:
Most Important Search Sites
Sure there has been a lot of attention paid to
Google being the number one search engine. 39 percent of active
Internet surfers (or 59.3 million unique viewers) used Google to do
searches. The search tools at Yahoo! and MSN attracted approximately
30 percent each. Yahoo! had 45.7 million unique users and MSN 44.6
million. So we still need to pay attention to those search engines
also.
Yahoo! has a new FREE submission form to get sites
included in the Yahoo! listings. If your site
is hosted with us on our server, or you subscribe to our Site
Submission Service, we've already submitted your site at no cost to
you.
If you do not host your site with us you may
submit your site yourself at
free site submission option.
You need a Yahoo account to submit your site.
Link Check Your
Competitors
Take advantage of free services like
www.linkpopularitycheck.com to find all the sites that link to
your competitors. Click the Details link to view the list. If your
product or service is stronger than your competitor, then consider
visiting some of these sites and approaching them in regard to linking
to you as well, or as a replacement to your competitor depending on
the situation. These sites have already demonstrated an interest in
linking to Web sites similar to your own, so many will be ideal
candidates.
Avoid
Accidentally Replying To Spammers
If you use Microsoft Outlook, here's
a tip that may help eliminate some spam. Unless you confirm all the
setting options in Outlook, you might unknowingly be replying to
spammers. How? Select Options from the Tools menu, click on the E-mail
Options button, then click on the Tracking Options button. Make sure
that Always send a response is not checked. If it is, uncheck it to
stop automatically sending e-mail confirmations to spammers. If you
have the automatic response selected, you may be unwittingly verifying
your e-mail address to spammers. This tip is specific to Outlook 2003,
but similar settings should be found in previous versions of Outlook.
Recycling Printer Ink Cartridges
As many
of you know, I train guide dogs for the blind. The school I volunteer
with is
Guide Dogs
of Texas. They are collecting printer ink cartridges
for recycling and fund raising.
Click HERE to read more about their project. Before you throw out that empty ink
cartridge, please give me a call and I'll come pick it up for
recycling by Guide Dogs of Texas. If you are one of our many clients
not fortunate enough to live in 'God's Country' you may mail the
cartridges to me and I'll discount the shipping charges from your
bill.
We
thank you in advance to taking the time to help with the worthwhile
project.
